While we do not experience all of the four seasons in Miami, we do celebrate them.

Each family has their own traditions, their own way of doing things and celebrating life’s special moments. I always recognize the beginning of each season because of the traditions we have based on certain times of the year.

I realise it is autumn/fall when…

…the weather begins to cool and the seas begin to calm.

I realise it is winter when…

…we leave Miami to build snowmen in New Mexico.

I realise it is spring when…

…we begin planning our annual Key West retreat – before Hurricane Season begins!

I realise it is summer when…

…it is time to head to the mountains of Western North Carolina for cooler temperatures.

This is my entry in Booked.net‘s “Capture the Season” contest.

Do you love taking photographs while you’re traveling and experiencing the different seasons? You can participate in Booked.net’s Capture the Season contest as well, while sharing some of your favorite photos that capture what the seasons mean to you.

I’d love to see what fantastic memories Nick from Nick’s Travel Bug has snapped throughout his travels to Capture the Season!

What signifies the beginning of a new season for you?

I wish I could travel more and enjoy the different seasons. I am dying to see the leaves changing in the fall up north.

Jenn I love those photos! You make me want to pack up right now and head to the beach. I have a beautiful tree in my front yard, people are constantly knocking on my door to ask if they can have a leaf..no joke! Anyway I know that the seasons are changing when it’s gorgeous purple color starts to fade.

Those are great pictures! Good luck in the contest. We have all four seasons here in Cleveland and I look forward to the kids smiling faces as they play in the snow in winter, the beauty of the spring flowers, the warmth of the summer sun, and the color in the fall leaves.

We definitely have seasons- Summer, which I recognize because I can’t go outside without melting, Winter, which I recognize because they start selling earmuffs at the store 😉 & Spring and Fall are pretty much the same season and I recognize them because they are my favorites!
