Hooray for National Bomb Pop Day!

Summer is right around the corner which means it’s time to break out the grill, grab some burgers and hot dogs, and head outside. Whether it’s the 4th of July, or a Sunday afternoon, there’s nothing better than a summertime get-together. But no party is complete without Bomb Pops, a sweet treat available at your local Publix store that both kids & adults can enjoy!

To celebrate National Bomb Pop Day on June 26th and the 4th of July, I wanted to share some of my favorite party tips!

5 Tips for the Perfect Summer Celebration

    1. Skip the cooking and serve lots of fresh fruits and veggies, cold cuts and cheese and crackers, and hit that deli at your supermaket for pasta salad, chilled chicken wings and lots of refreshing lemonade and iced tea!
    2. Set up sprinklers and a Slip-n-Slide in the backyard for the kids to play in while the grown ups sit around the patio and chit chat!
    3. We all know that it can get pretty hot during the summer, so move your patio furniture under a tree, or invest in a canopy for your outdoor space. You can even find temporary canopies for about $20 at mass market retailers like Walmart and Target.
    4. Be festive with your decorating! Of course you want to embrace the red, white and blue for the 4th of July gatherings, but for other summer parties, go for bright and cheerful colors. Hit up your local Party City for vinyl tablecloths, paper products and string paper lanterns in the branches of your trees. It will help set the mood for fun!
    5. Play games! While the kids play in the sprinkler, set up card tables for the grown ups and set out games like dominos, checkers, Taboo and my new favorite card game, Crimes Against Humanity. If your guests are more on the tame side, stick to good old fashioned Apples to Apples. Before you know it, everyone will be laughing and having a great time!
