I'm finally home again from Toronto and while I had a fantastic time, I am so happy to be back home!
For one, I'm completely exhausted! Have you ever had one of those vacations where you did so much that you are happy to be home and do absolutely nothing? It's like that!
I had one of those dreaded international flight experiences this morning - arrived at the airport almost 2 hours before our flight, only to have to RUN across the airport screaming for them to hold the plane for us!
First, there was a line to check in our baggage. Then there was a line to go through U.S. Customs...where we spent 45 minutes because out of the 16 windows they had there, only 6 were open - for about 200 people.
Then there was the line to throw your baggage on the carousel.
Then the line for security...
At each line, we were moved ahead because our flight was nearing it's departure time, or because my travelling companion is a police officer and they wanted to help us out.
It was nerve racking but overall an entertaining and funny experience.
Although, I do regret not being able to hit the duty-free shops for some Canadian Whisky!
After a friend picked us up at the airport, I arrived at home to find my husband cleaning my car - and steam cleaning my floor mats. How'd I get so lucky?!
After a quick catnap, it was off to my parent's house for a 4th of July BBQ with our immediate family. The Casey Anthony trial was on the TV - am I the only one shocked that they weren't able to come to a verdict after 6 hours? If I were on that jury, I would need 5 minutes - just long enough to write "GUILTY AS HELL" down.
Then we came home to unwind a bit before inviting everyone over to our place for a fireworks show...we may have set our neighbor's bushes on fire...
Don't worry, that's why we keep the hose hooked up and a huge bucket of water within easy reach!
HAPPY 4th of JULY!

I can't believe how many fireworks you set off! What the heck? No wonder the bushes caught fire. LOL
