    How Do You Redecorate? #HavertysRefresh

Every few years, I look around the various rooms in my home and I get the itch. You know, the redecorating bug! My mind starts mapping out all of the ways that I can change things up, and new furniture is always at the top of my list. Our living room sectional is about 6 years old and while we wash our cushion covers often because they're microfiber, they're really just worn out! I want to redecorate the living room and buy new furniture, but where do I begin? Online window shopping at Havertys comes in handy when I need a little inspiration!

I took a peek around the Havertys site and there are some truly gorgeous pieces of furniture! I found several reclining sectionals that I'd love to cuddle up on, like this Laramie sectional. Even though there are only three of us in the family, we have always needed a lot of seating because of our dogs, who love to cuddle with us while we are watching television, and because family and friends are always stopping by for a chat.

Even if you aren't ready to buy new furniture for an entire room makeover, it's easy enough to change the accents in your room to give the room an inexpensive freshening up. You can add a new painting, new sconces, or even change the color of the walls. Updating things like this is usually enough to tide me over for awhile, but sometimes a girl just has to overhaul a room completely...and we are definitely at that point in the living room!

The process of shopping for new furniture might seem daunting to others, but I have so much fun with it. The first thing I do is figure out my
budget. The bulk of the budget gets spend on furniture with the remaining being used on decor like new lamps, rugs, vases, or decorative artwork and frames.

While style is important, function is my top priority when it comes to major pieces of furniture. A couch or recliner needs to be comfortable as well as durable! Aside from our family of three, the dogs are often on the couch and we need solidly-constructed furniture that will hold up well...despite a 120 pound dog using it as a dog bed.

Dressers need to be sturdy and able to hold to accommodate my slight shopping addiction. Oh and mattresses, if ever there was a place to splurge, it's there. We spend a third of our lives in bed, it should be the most relaxing place ever!

Havertys makes it simple to find furniture with all my criteria: budget, function, and style. They have everything you need from living rooms and bedrooms to media rooms and home offices, with large furniture as well as accent pieces, accessories - if you need it for your decorating project, Havertys is bound to have it!

Sometimes I will pick up a new accessory when I want to change things up but don't have the budget for new furniture. Adding a new wall mirror, rug, lamps or whatnot is a great way to change the look of the room when you have a really tight budget.

After we redecorate the living room, I want to finally tackle our family room...it's been sitting pretty empty, with only Chris's exercise equipment and is a totally wasted space. Our dream is to turn it into a entertainment room, complete with big screen television and surround sound. Havertys even offers home theater seating, with cushy recliners with cup holders. Now that's how to watch a movie in style!
