Doing good makes me feel good. It's nice to see the look on someone's face when I open the door for them or offer grab the bill for their coffee or help them cram their luggage into the overhead compartment. The look of gratitude is nice, but that's not why I do it. To me, doing good is all about making the world better - one day at a time, one nice thing at a time. If I can make one person's day better, maybe they'll make another person's day better, and as the "pay it forward" idea goes, one act of kindness can have a chain reaction that can change the world!
Doing Good with Shine it Forward and #MondaysForGood
I think doing good is one of the keys to making the world a better place, and so does Jimmy Dean. That's why they're kicking off the Shine it Forward campaign and the #MondaysForGood hashtag. Jimmy Dean is about more than great breakfast food: they're about great days too.
Great days come when people everywhere start doing good. That's what Shine it Forward is all about! Jimmy Dean wants people to take the energy they get from a hardy Jimmy Dean breakfast and use that to make the world a better place. And that can happen when you Shine it Forward.
#MondaysForGood is Jimmy Deans way of giving people a jumping off point for doing good with the Shine it Forward movement. They want everyone to figure out how they can do good every Monday. Maybe it's only one day out of the week, but it's a start. If you're as interested in doing good as I am, I encourage you to visit the Jimmy Dean Shine On page and watch the #MondaysForGood video.
I hope the video will inspire you to sign the petition to make #MondaysForGood a national holiday and make you think about how you could be doing good every Monday AND on the days that follow.
Doing Good is Good for Everyone
Doing good is good for you and it's good for the people you help. It feels good to make others feel good, and that kindness can have a ripple effect. When you do good, you feel good. More importantly, doing good makes the people around you feel good, as well. So please, head over to the Jimmy Dean Shine On page, watch the video, sign the #MondaysForGood national holiday petition, and think about how you can start doing good every Monday and beyond!
I'll be spending my Monday traveling to New York, and I foresee myself opening a lot of doors and maybe even buying a cup of coffee - and a breakfast pastry or two - for my fellow travelers during my travels. Who knows what other goodness I can get up to? I'm excited to spread the goodness and make people smile...and I hope that you will too!

My 8 year old wakes up grumpy every day, so I do everything I can in the mornings to make him smile and get in a better mood.

This is a great idea. My husband does a lot of helping people when it comes to fixing vehicles.

I will always remember the morning someone bought my cup of coffee. It made an impression on my day,for sure, but a much more long-lasting one also. The little things can be such a big thing.

I love this idea and I am all for doing good. I will have to remember each Monday to join in and do my part!
