I received complimentary product from SheSpeaks/Aveda. All opinions are my own.

I am kind of known for my curly hair. I've heard "I love your curly hair!!" from friends and strangers alike pretty much all of my life. While I do actually love my curly hair too, it can be a huge, gigantic pain to care for, especially when it comes time to style it. Unless I am traveling or have an event to get ready for, I usually throw a little anti-frizz serum, curling creme and mousse into it and call it a day. Yes, even on my lazy days, I have to use three products to walk out of the bathroom with semi-decent hair. Curls are high maintenance!

Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight #AvedaNaturallyStraight

I am always on the look out for new hair care products, so when I heard a rumor that I could go from my naturally curly to naturally straight hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight, I was pretty excited! When I want straight hair, I have to load up on the straightening balm and spend at least half and hour in the bathroom straight ironing my hair. You can imagine what kind of damage that does to my hair!

Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight is a lightweight styling creme that progressively loosens your curls every time you style your hair. It is especially helpful for women with medium-to-coarse and wavy-to-coily hair. I think I fall into the medium to coarse hair type - depending on the level of humidity each day!

How to Use the Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Products:

Step 1: Wash hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Shampoo and follow with Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Conditioner. Towel dry hair and comb through.
Step 2: Apply Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep Smoother to damp hair, by working it through from the mid-shaft through the ends of hair.
Step 3: Apply Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight. Depending on hair length and thickness, start by using approximately a small coin sized drop of Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight styling creme on towel-dried, still-damp hair, applying it one section at a time.
Step 4: Blow-dry hair straight using the brush of your choice. Flat iron if desired.

Though it may seem like the process involves a lot of effort, it's totally worth it and is much better for your hair than daily blow drying and flat ironing. Unlike using a chemical straightener (I've have chemical relaxers in the past, which completely destroyed my hair!), Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight does not penetrate the hair shaft or modify hair’s natural bonds. It works from the outside of the hair shaft, using naturally derived plant fibers that attach to each strand of hair so it loosens your curls, while tapioca starch and maize acts as a humidity barrier. If you have curly hair, then you know that humidity is the enemy of good hair days. That is especially true for me in South Florida!

Even after two days of use, I noticed my curls were looser, which made styling that much easier! 94% of women say it helps eliminate curl immediately and after 5 consecutive applications of Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight, hair will stay straight for up to 3 washes.  Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight is safe to use on color treated hair, too, so no worries on that front!

    Aveda Smooth Infusion

    The Aveda Smooth Infusion™ System
The lightweight, supremely straightening and heat-protecting Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight styling creme is part of the comprehensive Aveda Smooth InfusionTM collection of products specially formulated to smooth or straighten hair while dramatically reducing frizz and defending against humidity. The line includes:

Smooth Infusion™ Conditioner (US $21, 6.7 oz./200 ml): Daily conditioner smoothes and reduces frizz.

Smooth Infusion™ Style-Prep Smoother (US $24, 3.4 oz./100 ml): Defends against humidity for up to 12 hours and lays the foundation for long lasting smooth styles.

Smooth Infusion™ Glossing Straightener (US $23, 4.2 oz., 125 ml): Straightens hair while imparting lustrous shine and protecting the hair’s cuticle from heat damage.

    To Achieve the Best Results

Depending on hair length and thickness, start by using approximately a small coin sized drop of Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight styling creme on towel-dried, still-damp hair, applying it one section at a time. Blow dry hair straight using the brush of your choice. 94% say it helps eliminate curl immediately and after 5 consecutive applications of Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight, hair will stay straight for up to 3 washes.

Oh these look great to help get a smooth look! I have some friends who really struggle a lot to get straight hair. They need to hear about these.

Your curls are gorgeous! My hair is more the frizzy/crazy curl variety and I used to have it professionally straightened when I lived in Japan. It lasted for almost 6 months and that was the most manageable my hair has ever been. I will have to give this a try.

I have wavy hair so I always need something for frizz control. This sounds like a good option

I'm jealous! My hair is so thin and fine. I've always been a fan of Aveda...I'll have to check these out.

I been using the naturally straight and notice that my hair really does stay straighter after using it faithfully - I mean of course it doesn't make it 'straight' right out of the shower, but the flat iron slides waaay easier and I can get it straighter faster than before I started using the product.
