It is kitten season for real, guys! When I went to the Humane Society yesterday to pick up two new kittens, I ended up spending an hour there as the volunteer coordinator showed me around and we worked out the details of which kittens I would be taking.
There were kittens everywhere!
There are so many kittens and cats, in fact, that the Humane Society is running a special promotion and allowing people to name their own price when adopting them - and then you can actually buy one, get one free.
It's a buy one get one free sale on cats.
And no, I didn't buy any. ha ha!
The first kitten was actually rescued by a celebrity while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. He brought it back to the states to be adopted out. How cool is that?
This little guy is named Hoover. I am just guessing that he eats like a pig.
Funny story: when I was at the Humane Society last week returning the ringworm twins (yes, that is what I am referring to them as from now on), a man was bringing in this little kitten. He had just found it in his neighbor's yard and the neighbor claimed not to know who it belonged to...
This is Snow White. She's a bit skittish and mostly hides under my daughter's dresser or in her box, but she is really sweet once she begins to warm up. I had her purring like crazy last night!
She is beyond fluffiness. She is just a little ball of fluff!
Oh, and she has fleas.
Nice, right? Luckily, with all that stark white fur, I was able to find the fleas last night and get them off of her. I only found two!
Now she just needs a bath to remove the flea dirt. I'll get to it...eventually.
I set the kittens up in Angeline's room - the only dog-free room in the house - and waited for her to get home from school...she squealed when she walked into her bedroom and the kittens came running out of their hiding places!
Oh...and I checked on Mary Poppins. She was adopted out within days of being spayed.
Oh well, looks like I won't be getting any buy one, get one free deals...
