I've been using my new Acer Iconia W510 tablet with Windows 8 for a few weeks now, so I thought I'd check in and let you know how it's going.
I had intended on taking my new Windows 8 tablet with me on my trip to Kissimmee...but I always leave one thing behind.
This time? It was my Acer Iconia W510 sitting right on the coffee table next to the door - you know, so I wouldn't forget it!
So how have I been doing with my new Windows 8 tablet?
Honestly, it's been a bit of a learning curve. I would love to say that I picked it up and instantly fell in love with it...but it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to set up my email.
Tip: In order to set up Gmail on the Acer Iconia W510, you must first sign in with a Microsoft account. You can use your Gmail email address as your user name - you don't need to actually register for a Microsoft email account.
As much as I love the Windows platform, I have never used Windows 8 before. I am still getting the hang of it, but the more time I spend on it, the easier it becomes.
I also didn't realize quite how used to Apple's iOS I was on my iPhone and iPad. You see, I've been using iPhones for almost five years now, and I've had an iPad for two years. Switching over to a Windows-based tablet was a big transition!
I started downloading a few of the different apps this week: Pinterest, Facebook, All Recipes, Instagram - you know, the necessities for a blogger!
By far, my favorite is the Pinterest app!
It is almost exactly like the web version of Pinterest, which makes it so much easier for me to browse pins and look up new recipes to try!
Now that I am getting the hang of Windows 8, I really want to start taking it with me when I travel. It's like have my PC right there with me!
Now I am saving up for the Acer Iconia keyboard doc so that it will be easier to use the tablet to work on blog posts and things like that while I am traveling!
The W510 keyboard dock is the perfect accessory because it's lightweight and basically turns your tablet into a fully functional PC!
Another fantastic perk of using the keyboard dock is that once your Acer Iconia W510 is docked, the tablet maintains a charge for up to 18 hours at a time!

Do you have any tips for me on which apps are great on the new Windows 8 tablets ?
I'd love to hear them!
I received the Acer Iconia W510 tablet with Windows 8 as part of the #TabletCrew through Social Chorus and will be sharing my experiences as I use it! Follow the #IntelTablets hashtag on Twitter to stay up to date!
