Okay, guys, we have a new comedy directed by Zack Braff in April!! Going in Style is hitting theaters on April 7th and I am super excited!!!
Oscar winners Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”), Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules,” “Hannah and Her Sisters”) and Alan Arkin (“Little Miss Sunshine”) team up as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty, in director Zach Braff’s comedy “Going in Style.”
Pretty funny premise for a movie, right? As a self employed blogger, I don't know what all this "pension" stuff is about, but I have an idea is has something to do with real jobs behind a desk and stuff like that...
Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money!
Going in Style stars Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Ann-Margret, Joey King, with Matt Dillon and Christopher Lloyd! Yes, Christopher Lloyd too!
There are a few people in my life with whom I can imagine going on an adventure like this with...my old best friend from high school, Shelly, just came down to visit me last week and we had a few crazy Miami nights before we road tripped from Miami to the Gulf Coast. I can totally see us doing this! When we were 15 and 16, we were at a church service with my boyfriend, and for some reason - it's been so long that I really can't remember, please don't judge me for my almost-old age - she and I ended up in his Pontiac Fiero, driving down one of the back roads in my neighborhood. Now, neither one of us had a license, nor did we really know how to drive...We were just kids!! I was driving and wanted to see how fast the car could go, and somewhere around 100 miles per hour, the CAR LIFTED OFF THE GROUND.
IT LIFTED OFF THE GROUND. IT BASICALLY FLEW.
Of course we screamed our heads off, the car came back down, and we drove it back into the church parking lot and never said a word.
We still laugh about "remember that time we stole Stoian's car?" and giggle like school girls.
