You know how when you're on vacation, you allow yourself to indulge in all kinds of sweet and savory treats? I get into this way of thinking when I travel that I can eat whatever I want because I will go back to eating a well-balanced diet as soon as I get home. Well, that's all fine and dandy if it weren't for the fact that I traveled almost nonstop in the month of June...and May and April and March. I stepped off my cruise last week feeling like I had swallowed a lead balloon, and Angeline (who ate Cheeseburgers and french fries every day on eight day cruise) wasn't feeling much better. As soon as we got back home, I went to Winn Dixie to get some probiotics and instead of the usual pill form, I picked up strawberry and blueberry Lifeway Kefir smoothies.

A probiotic AND a breakfast smoothie in one? Yes, please! Let's just say that after not cooking for over a week, I was happy to find a healthy substitute for cooking breakfast! A smoothie that's already ready to go makes getting out the door to have fun during the summer so much easier!

Winn Dixie had a few varieties of Lifeway Foods, but I stuck with the Lifeway Kefir 32oz Low Fat Cultured Milk Smoothies in Strawberry and Blueberry because we already enjoy those flavors in our smoothies regularly. Of course the low fat was a definite plus, as my pants are fitting a tad bit too tightly for my liking after eating chocolate cake for dessert for seven days in a row...

I appreciate that Kefir offered traditional flavors that I don't have to talk Angeline into trying! They have Strawberry and Blueberry, as well as Strawberry Banana and Raspberry.

We are so used to taking probiotics that when we don't...well, lets just say that it has a negative effect on our digestive systems. We have had such a busy summer, full of travel, spending time with friends and family at the beach and on the boat; we really can't afford to let anything slow us down, least of all our digestive system!

Can you imagine if my mom called and invited us to go to the beach and we had to decline with, "Sorry, mom, I am too bloated to go to the beach today!" We would miss out on so much summertime fun!

    Lifeway Kefir Probiotic Smoothies #KefirCreations #CollectiveBias #Shop

I learned about Lifeway at a blog conference a few years ago and have tried a few of their products off an on over the years. I can always easily find the Lifeway Kefir Probiotic Smoothies in the dairy aisle at Winn Dixie in between the milk and the yogurts - Lifeway Kefir is a cousin of yogurt, with a smooth and tart taste that is really refreshing, especially on hot summer days! Lifeway Kefir is referred to as the “Champagne of Dairy" and I am inclined to agree! Lifeway Kefir has 12 live and active probiotic cultures that support the immune system and balance your digestive health, so you can skip the pills and just drink your breakfast smoothie and kill two birds with one stone!

Lifeway Kefir 32oz Low Fat Cultured Milk Smoothies are also pretty healthy and allergy-friendly! They are naturally gluten-free, 99% lactose-free and have no artificial sweeteners. They're also rich in calcium, which we all know is especially important to growing teenage girls!

    Lifeway Kefir #KefirCreations #CollectiveBias #Shop

One of the things that really stands out about Lifeway Kefir 32oz Low Fat Cultured Milk Smoothies for me personally is that I don't have to worry about the ingredients. While my husband and daughter aren't concerned with eating all-natural whole foods, I do try to eliminate as much processed junk from our family's diet as possible.

While we do eat things on occasion that aren't all-natural, I am so happy that Lifeway Kefir smoothies are made with milk from grass-fed cows and are GMO free! The milk used to make these smoothies comes from cows that were not given pesticides, antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones. That means that I can let Angeline drink all she wants and I don't have to think twice about it!

Because it's summertime, y'all. The only thing we should have to worry about is how we are going to spend the long, lazy days of summer...on the beach, at the park or enjoying any of the other wonderful things summertime has to offer!

I haven't tried Kefir before but I'm always hearing good things about it. I know that bloated feeling too well monthly, so I'm thinking it doesn't hurt to give it a try!

Looks like your summer (and spring) has been full of fun! I know what a havoc traveling can put on a proper eating routine, especially when one is on press trips and doesn't have control of the menu. My daughter is lactose intolerant and we always have a bottle of Lifeway Kefir in the fridge for her. The Mango flavor is her favorite.

I have heard of Lifeway Kefir, but I haven't tried it yet since it has dairy in it. I'm lactose-intolerant, so it would have a reverse effect on me. However, I have heard nothing but good about this brand! Hopefully, they'll come out with a dairy-free option in the future. 🙂

I drank Kefir a lot as a kid. We could only get it from one health food store. I love that it's so readily available now.
