I think of myself as an All-American gal. I love long walks on the beach, apple pie, rock-n-roll and meat and potatoes. With a heavy emphasis on the potatoes. But really, who doesn't love potatoes? Whether they're in french fry form, eaten with breakfast as hash browns or home fries, baked and topped with lots of butter and sour cream, mashed (with more butter and sour cream) or served up as an easy side dish of potatoes au gratin...I could go on and on about the many ways to eat potatoes, not unlike Bubba when he rambled about shrimp in Forest Gump.

    Betty Crocker Easy SIde Dishes

The thing about America's favorite side dish (potatoes, of course) is that they aren't always so easy to make on a busy evening. The last thing I want to do after I finish working all day, running errands, picking up Angeline from school and chasing after our three dogs is spend time peeling potatoes, boiling, mashing, etc. While the results are delicious, sometimes you just don't feel like doing it.

That's where Betty Crocker comes in!

We've used Betty Crocker for years, and it's always a super easy side dish for any kind of meal. Whether you're throwing a few steaks on the grill on a Sunday afternoon, or looking for an easy side dish to pair with pork chops, chicken, a roast: you name it, and Betty Crocker has a perfect pairing!

Angeline had an orthodontist appointment right after school on Tuesday, then I came home to three dogs that tore the house up while we were out. After getting the house back in order, I was in no mood to cook dinner, let alone spend an hour in the kitchen, cooking anything from scratch! Oh yeah, then Angeline announced that she had a project due the next morning and I had to run to the store to pick up a new poster board and new markers...I tell ya, a mother's job is never done!

I grabbed a rotisserie chicken and served up the Betty Crocker Potatoes Au Gratin as a side and we were good to go!

    Betty Crocker Easy Side Dishes

Betty Crocker is a classic American Brand with a line of delicious and mouthwatering Specialty Potatoes that can make any meal complete! From Au Gratin to Classic Mashed Potatoes, Betty Crocker has something for every weeknight dinner, no matter how you - or the little ones waiting patiently at the dinner table - prefer their potatoes!

I also love that they can be bought practically anywhere, from the grocery store to big box retailers like Walmart and Target, to the neighborhood drugstore. You can easily run in on the way home from work and grab a box, and because all you need is milk, water and butter or margarine, you'll have all of the necessary ingredients in the fridge already!
