I laugh whenever I hear teenagers say "I can't wait to grow up!" or "I can't wait to get older!" It makes me want to grab them by the shoulders and shake them, shouting NO YOU DON'T! right into their ignorant little cherub faces.
Getting old is a total drag. I should know, because I've recently found myself flirting with the dreaded 4 0. I feel like every time I look into the mirror, there's more gray hair or a new fine line to contend with. I've always had great skin and never used any moisturizers...I suppose that was the beginning of my undoing! Sometimes I stand in front of the skincare line at the drugstore and feel like an alien. What is this stuff? Which one should I try? What's the difference between all of these different brands? How the heck do I use them? Can I use a day cream and a night cream in the same day? My mom is in her 50s and still doesn't use day or night creams, so she's no help. Dang her and her perfect skin!
Did I mention how getting old sucks?
SheSpeaks and Loreal asked me to give the new L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation a try and write a sponsored blog post about it and quite honestly, it was a relief to have someone suggest a product for me. Re: the aforementioned confusion and lack of any knowledge about skincare products.
I came home from Alaska feeling dried up and brittle and I swear I had a new wrinkle on the right side of my face. It was like a tiny squiggly line saying HI! I don't know if it was really a brand new wrinkle or if my husband just replaced the light in the bathroom while I was gone and it had been there all along, making me look old without my knowledge or consent.
Wrinkles are pretty jerky like that.
Andi McDowell is way older than I am, but she always looks completely - and unfairly - amazing in the L'Oréal commercials, so I had high hopes for the L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation.
L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation is L'Oréal Paris’ first makeup with exclusive blur technology formulated to instantly blur lines and wrinkles. While erasing them completely and indefinitely would be preferable, I think that's a little much to expect of a makeup product. Signs of aging are supposed to disappear as the Visible Lift Blur Foundation hides dark spots, large pores and smooths uneven texture so skin comes out looking smooth and flawless.
I just recently started getting dark spots on my face, so I was a little extra excited when I saw that part about dark spots! It's such a pain to use a cover up stick on them before I put my makeup on that I usually just skip it...then regret it later. The is super easy to use, you just apply the foundation with a makeup brush or your fingertips, blending it in an outward motion. I use my fingertips because it's easier to control the coverage that way and...I never learned how to use a foundation brush.
L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation contains SPF 18 and is available in 12 shades. It retails for approximately $14.99 for 1.4 fl oz. and is available at mass food and drug retailers nationwide!

This foundation provides the perfect amount of coverage. I love, love it, but I can't use it everyday since I have teenage skin (i.e. acne prone), and it breaks me out so easily!

That did such a great job for you! And yes, getting old does suck. Thank goodness for stuff like this.
Colleen
You look amazing! I totally feel your "confusion about skincare" and getting old sucks.

How cute are you, love how it came out.

You look good and as if you are in your late 20's. Growing old is not so bad. Just use good products and remember that age is just a number.
Penelope
You aren't old (hey, that means you are calling me old!) but you look AMAZING in that photo, holy cow pretty girl!

You look great. That's some great foundation. I need to add some of this to my own make up routine.

I haven't tried this foundation. I have some wrinkles I'd like to blur out, lol.
