Doggy Parks Are Pure Joy for Everyone! #FriendsWithBeneful #DreamDogPark

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Beneful. All opinions are 100% mine.

Dog parks have always been something that both I and my dogs love. I’ve taken them to parks since they were puppies. They’ve always loved getting out there and playing with the other dogs. It’s a great way for them to get in a ton of exercise and socialize them properly. Dog parks are just about the best thing a person can do for their dog, in my opinion.

Dog Parks are Shaggy, Waggy Fun

I actually didn’t know dog parks existed for a long time. I know, I know. That seems silly, but sometimes you don’t know about something until you’re looking for it. I had a friend who took her dog to the local dog park, and when I got my guys, she told me all about it. It sounded fun, and since I knew that dogs needed to be socialized, it seemed like the perfect thing.

It was. My dogs absolutely loved being there. Although they weren’t the largest dogs at the park, they made up for it by always being in the middle of the action, tails wagging the entire time. They had so much fun! I continued to take them to the park frequently, and they became more and more outgoing. They made new friends, both canine and human, and they generally had a fantastic time. That’s actually where I started calling dog parks “doggy parks”. My two boys got all excited when I would say in my super goofy voice, “Do you want to go to the doggy park?! Do you?!” That’s what doggy parks are all about.

Beneful is all about our pets’ health, whether it be through food or activity. They’ve been helping build and upgrade dog parks since 2010, helping to keep those magical places going and providing new playgrounds for our four legged friends. They’ve just launched the 2016 Dream Dog Park Project, an annual effort to help improve and build dog parks across the country. Their goal is to provide both financial and hands-on support to a minimum of 12 dog parks in the U.S. This year, GoFundMe is helping them reach that goal.

Doggy Park Benefits

I love what Beneful is doing to support dog parks. These are places where both humans and dogs can go to interact with like-minded pals no matter how many legs they have. According to a survey, most dog owners say that their local doggy park is a great place to bring the community together. BUT they feel like the parks could use some improvements. Because dog owners love their community dog parks so much, most would be willing to volunteer their time to help make them nicer.

And they need to be nicer. 73% of owners said their local doggy park could use features like shaded areas, drinking fountains, water features for the pooches, dog-safe turf, and better, more secure fencing for added safety. That’s the whole point of Beneful’s Dream Dog Park Project. They want to make our local parks a place where dogs and people can have fun in a safe, secure, and beautiful environment.

Making our local doggy parks nicer is extremely important. Almost half of dog owners take their fur babies to park several times a week. The vast majority said that their local doggy park provides a place for them and their dogs to get a little exercise and be around like-minded people and pets. It’s a real community gathering place, and we need more of them.

Beneful – Benefiting Dog Parks

Doggy parks are an excellent source of exercise, engagement, and camaraderie for both people and their dogs. They’re a place where we can enjoy our dogs as well as our neighbors’ dogs. They’re a place where our dogs can learn to interact with other people and dogs and generally have a great time. Beneful knows that, and they’re working to make sure that more communities have that. I love that they’ve partnered with GoFundMe to help make more doggy parks a reality again this year with their Beneful Dream Dog Park Project.

Do you take your dog to a doggy park? I’d love to hear about it. Just leave me a comment below and you’ll be entered to win a Dog Park Pack with a bag, leash, Frisbee and tennis ball (along with Beneful coupons)! This giveaway ends on July 15, 2016 at Midnight EST.

I don’t know if there’s a dog park in the area, but we do take him to a park with us when we do go.

Oh we love to go to our dog park! We do have a big fenced backyard, but the dogs love to go and explore at the doggy park! We love to walk the trails…and oh such great smells for the dogs. 🙂 They love to run and explore! On the way home we always stop at DQ and go through the drive thru for a pup cup(they give free doggy cups if you ask for them). The dogs always enjoy their day out!

My dog doesn’t get to the park as often as either of us would like. I think we need to work it into our morning routine before it gets too hot. I love that Beneful is making the lives of pups even better.

I wish we had a dog park nearby. =( I mean, we have a nice, big backyard, but a dog park would be nice so our guys could get out and socialize a bit.
