Discover the World When You Discover Boating #DiscoverBoating

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received collateral to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Growing up in South Florida meant spending a lot of time on the water. My love of the ocean and marine life has carried with me through adulthood, and I’m happy to find that I’ve passed along this love for the Salt Life to Angeline.

That being said, it should come as no surprise that one of our favorite parts of our recent cruise was snorkeling in Turks & Caicos!

After a brief boat ride over the beautiful blue waters, we found ourselves anchored off the sandy shores of Cotton Key.

There’s something about being out on the boat, smelling the salty air, letting your hair down to blow wildly in the wind…

Boating allows us to reach places we wouldn’t otherwise see. Every time we step onto a boat, it’s an adventure waiting to happen!

Whether it be jet skiing, water skiing, snorkeling or scuba diving, fishing, just swimming in the ocean – or visiting an uninhabited island in Turks & Caicos; boating opens up an entirely new world to us.

Chris and I have been talking about buying a boat for a really long time. I think that the only reason it has never really been a priority is because practically everyone we know has a boat – and we’ve never had a problem getting out on the water.

Ah, but in my old age (ha ha!), I am getting greedy.

I WANT MY OWN BOAT.

And I want it bad.

Maybe a jet ski too!

So Chris and I have decided that it’s time to stop talking about buying a boat, to stop relying on all of our friend’s and family’s boats…and to buy our own boat.

And as much as I’d love to buy one of these super awesome boats like we saw in Turks & Caicos, I know that realistically, we’ll probably start out with a smaller flats boat.

I was checking out this boating on a budget article at DiscoverBoating.com to figure out just how much we would need to save in order to buy a boat that would be a good fit for our little family. The first tip was to visit a boat show – that’s something we do anyway! Ha ha!

If you’re thinking of buying a boat – or just want to be inspired to be more active on a boat you already own, DiscoverBoating.com has great resources and educational tools for boaters of all levels!

It looks beautiful. I’ve only been on boats a couple of times but I enjoyed it.

Boating reminds me of my father he loved boats and always was hoping one day to have a sailboat. I remember going to the races in Michigan and of course you can always find boats in SoFL.

I’ve been on speedboats many times, but never a sailboat! Sounds so relaxing to me though.
