This post is sponsored by Dasani & The Coca-Cola Company.
Dasani is branching out from being more than one of the biggest names in bottled water. Now, they're on track to be the biggest name in environmental sustainability. The Dasani Green Bottle Cap water bottle is made from 30% plant-based materials and still 100% recyclable.
Dasani Water Bottles - Lessening the Carbon Footprint
I do my best to lessen my carbon footprint on the environment. I reuse, recycle, and upcycle whenever possible, and I try to buy products that follow that same philosophy. We've only got one planet, and we haven't been very good to it for a long time. I don't want my daughter to have to deal with a planet that's sick, so I do what I can to keep it healthy.
So does The Coca-Cola company. Their Dasani Green Green Bottle Cap water bottle is made with the environment in mind. The bottle uses 30% plant materials, and that makes a huge difference. That 30% replaced some of the non-renewable petroleum or fossil-based resources used in conventional PET plastic, AND the bottles remain 100% recyclable. So Dasani bottles use less environmentally damaging materials and remain able to be used in the production of other products after we've finished with them. It's a win/win!
These Dasani bottles now account for 30% of Coca-Cola's packaging volume in North America and 7% globally, makingi them the world's largest bioplastics user. In the 5 years that Coke has been using this technology, it's eliminated the equivalent of 240,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions! These bottles have also been recognized by the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry as helping to fuel the bio-based manufacturing movement. That is a HUGE deal.
Coke is doing more with this technology than bringing us Dasani water. They've licensed this plant based plastic technology to non-competitive companies, allowing for expansion of this environmentally friendly technology to build a global supply chain for PlantBottle material.
That means that no only do I help the environment when I drink Dasani, I help Coke help the environment as well. It's a win on two fronts, and I feel like that makes a difference.
Plant Based Bottles Can Change Our Planet
Coca-Cola is helping change this planet with their Dasani Green Bottle Cap water bottle and the environmentally friendly technology that they use to create it. Their Dasani bottles use 30% plant-based materials, and they contain 45% less plastic than the original 2001 bottles.
The strides that Coca-Cola, their Dasani bottles, and the technology used to create them are making towards a more environmentally conscious industry are amazing to me. Hopefully, what Coke is doing now influences the entire industry to take steps towards environmentally conscious manufacturing practices. In the meantime, I'll be doing my part to encourage this by making Dasani the only bottled water I'll buy. Like I said, I like to do my part.

Dasani is the only water I buy. Yesterday my friend and I were wondering why each of us had a green lid & a blue lid? Yet, they taste the same.
We shop at SAMS & get 6 cases 32count count of Dasani EACH, once a month. Now I know about the green lid, that’s all we will will buy..
Also, we’ll spread the the word. We are retired hairstylist’s, so it won’t take long, lol.
Thank y’all for the info
Wishing y’all Happy Holidays
