Like most people, I have learned to cut corners where I can during this recession. One of the ways I have started saving money and getting more bang for my buck is to use store loyalty cards - they are always free and you can earn great benefits like coupons, special sales and even cash back just by scanning your card at checkout!
I just saved $13 on my purchase at Sears last week by using my Shop Your Way Rewards key tag, and I redeemed a $5 credit at Walgreens last night when I picked up a new bottle of nail polish. Whenever I shop at Winn Dixie, I get special prices as a store loyalty card member, like buy one get one free items and special coupons.
And there's all of the money we have in Angeline's UPromise account that has accumulated over the years thanks to us swiping our Publix and Winn Dixie store loyalty cards!
All of these benefits that we receive have been completely free, all we have had to do is simply present our store loyalty cards!
The only downside to using all of these store loyalty cards is that it is literally a pain in the butt to have 8-10 key tags on my key ring at all times. Also, Chris really dislikes having any key tags on his key ring, so there is no way he will carry all of them and we miss out on savings because of that.
That is where the LOC Card comes in handy!
The LOC Card is one simple membership that consolidates all of your store loyalty cards into one card. LOC Card is a brand new program - just launched in October 2012 - that allows you to carry only a single store loyalty card and still be able to reap the benefits of all of your store loyalty programs!
How the LOC Card works:
After you enroll in the LOC Card program online, you take your new LOC Card to each of the stores where you normally use your store loyalty cards. Simply swipe the LOC card instead of your usual store loyalty card and the LOC Card will automatically enroll you into the merchant’s loyalty program if you aren't already enrolled. Now, if you are already enrolled, you can simply link your existing store loyalty number to your LOC card.
Then you can use your LOC Card to manage all of the store loyalty programs you belong too!
The LOC Card has a standard wallet-sized card, a key fob and a free smart phone app! With the smart phone app, you don't even need to carry around that old key fob (this will work well for my husband!), just pull up your LOC Card smart phone app and have the cashier scan the bar code.
Due to the newness of the LOC Card, they are still in discussions with small and large grocery stores, as well as restaurants and retailers around the country. You can check the announcements on the LOC Facebook page and on the LOC Card website!
Enter the LOC Card’s “Show Us Your Cards” Facebook Contest!
When the LOC Card launches, we are going to be able to easily access the benefits of all the loyalty programs out there just by using the LOC Card! To celebrate the launch of the LOC Card, LOC Card asks that you “Show us Your Cards,” to be entered to win a $50 Visa gift card! Just visit the LOC Card Facebook page and share a photo of your loyalty cards!
There will be three Show Us Your Cards winners! You can read all of the details here.

I have lots of different cards so I went to the LOC FB page and entered their contest. And WON $50. Looking forward to the LOC card.

That is a super idea! I have tons of little cards on my keyring, and it is rather annoying trying to find the right one at the checkout. I'm definitely going to use this!
