Check Out These Creative Ways to Use Arm & Hammer Baking Soda!

I know that we all know how fantastic Arm & Hammer brand baking soda is in our baking recipes, but you can really use it for so much more than baking!

With the holiday season in full swing, I thought I would share some of the lesser-known uses of Arm & Hammer baking soda. A little goes a long way towards helping you save money for the holidays!

    Brighten Your Smile!

For instance, did you know that you can actually use Arm & Hammer baking soda to help whiten your teeth? Yep! Just sprinkle a little Arm & Hammer baking soda right on your toothbrush and brush your teeth with it! You can also create a homemade mouthwash by mixing 1 teaspoon baking soda with half of a glass of water!

    Stain-fighting In Your Washer!

Add a few tablespoons to your laundry in the wash and it helps get your clothes extra clean!

    Polish the Silver...and your jewelry!

Save money by using this easy-to-make at-home polish: combine three parts Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to one part water and rub onto the silver or your jewelry with a clean cloth or sponge.  Then just rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth (preferably microfiber)!

    Fluffy Mashed Potatoes, Anyone?

Throw a pinch of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda into potatoes while mashing to make them fluffier. Who would've thought?!

Have a cleaner kitchen with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda!

Clean your food prep area and tools with natural, food safe Arm & Hammer Baking Soda instead of harsh cleaners. Sprinkle onto a clean damp cloth and wipe clean, rinse thoroughly and then dry.  Great for counters, stainless steel sinks, cutting boards, microwaves, wooden spoons, oven tops, range hoods and more. What a great alternative to those expensive kitchen cleaners!

    Create Santa’s Footprints

Lead the way to holiday gifts using a footprint stencil and Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to create a trail of footprints on the carpet. After opening up gifts, simply vacuum up the baking soda for easy party prep.

And guess what else you can use it for on your carpets? A very inexpensive carpet deodorizer! I sprinkle Arm & Hammer Baking Soda on my carpets, leave it there for about a half hour, then vacuum up and it absorbs the doggy smells! You can also use it to deodorize your sofas, just sprinkle on, leave for a bit, and then vacuum up!

    Save Money on Pampering Yourself!

One of the most surprising uses of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda has to be the many beauty uses! I had never heard of these before and had to share them with you as well!

Remove Product Build Up: Get rid of product buildup by sprinkling a quarter-size dollop of into your palm along with your favorite shampoo.  Shampoo as usual and rinse thoroughly.  It will remove the residue that styling products leave behind so your hair is cleaner and more manageable. That's right: it's basically a free clarifying treatment!

Make an all-natural deodorant: Dust Arm & Hammer Baking Soda under your arms as needed to feel fresh all day - it will absorb the odor instead of masking it, like regular deodorants do!

Create a Facial Scrub and Body Exfoliant: Give yourself a gentle facial and body scrub with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.  Make a paste of 3 parts Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to 1 part water and 1 part oatmeal.  Rub in a gentle circular motion to exfoliate skin and remove dead skin cells and then rinse clean with warm water.  Your skin will be nourished and refreshed and it is gentle enough for daily use!

Have an Exfoliating Pedicure: Blend 2 tablespoons in warm water and let soak for a while....then create a scrub using 3 parts Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and 1 part water. Follow with an application of a rich moisturizer and a warm towel foot wrap. Remove after 15 minutes and there you have it: an at-home pedicure!

Clean Your Cuticles: Dip a nail brush into Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and scrub nails and cuticles. Rinse clean with warm water and apply polish as usual. Seriously, it's that easy. Between the manicure and pedicure, I think I can save $30 every two weeks by avoiding the salon!

I love all of these great new ways to use Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, but I have to tell you, one of the ways I most love using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda is by sprinkling it in the cat's litter box! It truly is a great deodorizer...not just in the fridge!

You can find these and a ton of other money-saving ideas on the Arm & Hammer website! Not only will the savings come in handy during the holiday season, but I love the idea of saving money and using Arm & Hammer baking soda in the place of chemicals year-round!

I wrote this review while participating in an Blog Tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Arm & Hammer and received product samples to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Speaking of natural deodorants, my hubby and I have been making and using Colorado PitStik. It works great, smells wonderful and won the Healthier Alternative Trustworthy Brands Seal of Approval from TheSoftLanding.com!! A little goes a long way and one tin lasts up to 2 months depending on your use. Made with 5 natural ingredients, including baking soda and NO aluminum or parabens, you can even customize the scent with your favorite perfume or cologne. And it's a great deal on Etsy @ $7.95/tin *to your door*!!!

I use two giant boxes of this when I make my laundry soap, I also use a giant box of Washing Soda, too! I had no idea it would help with mashed potatoes! I will try that out!

      Thanks!

I never knew that about mashed potatoes--that is so cool! I did know about the teeth whitening. 😀 Another way to do it is to mash a strawberry and sprinkle baking soda onto it and then apply it to your teeth and let it sit. It works really well!
