It's going to be an amazing summer for movies, y'all! From the studio that brought you 500 Days of Summer, Juno and Little Miss Sunshine comes the indie family comedy of the summer: The Way, Way Back! You can catch a little peek in The Way, Way Back trailer at the end of this post!
Opening on July 5th, The Way, Way Back was written and directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash and stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, Anna Sophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph and Liam James, Amanda Peet and Rob Corddry.
I'm so excited to see The Way, Way Back, as some of my favorite actors and comedians are in the cast! Who would have ever thought that Maya Rudolph and Rob Corddry would appear in a movie together?
And Toni Collette and Steve Carrell? They're both such amazing actors, but their styles are so different - it's going to be quite interesting to see what their onscreen chemistry is like!
About The Way, Way Back
As you will see in The Way, Way Back trailer, this is a funny and poignant coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter, Steph (Zoe Levin).
Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park.
Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up to and begins to finally find his place in the world - all during a summer he will never forget.
I'd love to know what you think of The Way, Way Back trailer - doesn't it look funny?
