Everyday heroes. They make this country work. They do the jobs we don't even think about. Everyday heroes are teachers, firemen, police officers, and janitorial staffers. They're also our servicemen and women, hotel staff, and even the people that make baseball bats for our national pastime. Everyday heroes are everywhere, and they deserve to be celebrated.
Kronos Celebrates Everyday Heroes
Did you know that Kronos is the leader in workforce management? In fact, Kronos has tens of thousands of customers across the globe! They help their clients with everything from time management and attendance records, scheduling, HR and payroll, and more. This makes the uniquely acquainted with everyday heroes, and they want to honor the workforce that keeps the country and the world rolling.
1 in One Hundred Million
Kronos is celebrating the everyday heroes that keep the world turning with their 1 in One Hundred Million series, as I have mentioned in the past few months. 1 in One Hundred Million is a web series focusing on people who go above and beyond to make the world a better place. Through hard work, dedication, and a genuinely giving spirit, these people bring something to the world that can be tough to find - heart. From teachers to firefighters to produce managers at your local grocery store, everyday heroes make every day better.
Royce McMullen - Alligator Handler
One of the stories that I find most interesting is about Royce McMullen, an alligator handler. I can relate to him because he served our country in the armed forces. Coming from a family where being in the service has had a prominent role, I appreciate what he did for us and for his country, and what he continues to do for wildlife.
Royce is a family man and a National Guardsman who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now that he's back home, he continues to serve by helping conserve the alligator population of Louisiana, as well as keep them safe. He works at Insta-Gator Ranch and Hatchery in Covington, Louisiana, a world-renowned alligator ranching program which is directed by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. Not only does the Insta-Gator farm devote its resources to conserving the alligator population, it also does important work to preserve Louisiana wetlands.
The ranch is home to more than 2,000 alligators, which are released after they reach a size of about four feet. Royce plays a key role in the process. During the hatching season, he takes an air bout into the marshes and harvests around 1,500 alligator eggs throughout July. These eggs will be hatched at the ranch.
In addition to helping protect the alligator population, Royce educates others on these living fossils. His educational tours give visitors - both U.S. and foreign visitors - a close up look at the American Alligator and a better understanding of its history, life-cycle, and how North America's larges reptile affects its environment.
Everyday Heroes are Everywhere!
Everyday heroes are all around us, and Kronos wants to ensure that we all know it. Just look at Royce McMullen. He devotes his life to making the environment, and consequently everything around it, better. He's the very definition of an everyday hero. How cool! I love that he gets out there and gathers eggs, but he also educates the public, too. He's a man of many talents.
