Every summer, I take my daughter to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. It’s a tradition that’s been passed down through my family for generations. We go camping, biking, picnicking – sometimes we just go for drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in beautiful views of the vistas. There are rest stops with incredible scenic views, clean bathrooms, gorgeous picnic areas, hiking trails, information centers, etc. I just can’t imagine how much hard work it takes to keep these areas maintained and powered up for the public to use.
There are so many national parks around the country that offer a variety of outdoor activities for families year-round, and I was really excited to hear about what Energizer is doing to help keep these parks open and beautiful!
Energizer recently teamed up with the National Park Foundation to launch a public effort to preserve our national parks. Helping to launch the program is the fabulous Peter Facinelli (starring in Twilight Saga and Nurse Jackie). This program is so great because it is bringing importance of preserving our country’s greatest natural resources to the public’s attention and gives people different ways to become involved.
Visit www.nowthatspositivenergy.com/blogs or facebook.com/energizerbunny and clicking on the Parks tab, and RSVP to join a now that’s positivenergy™ national park volunteer event! While you’re there, also take a minute to vote for a National Park to receive a donation of responsible power solutions including solar panels, chargers, batteries, solar lights and other lighting products, all provided by a generous grant from Energizer!
In stores specially-marked Energizer products have a special code so when someone buys three participating products, he or she can go online to www.nowthatspositivenergy.com/blogs and redeem the codes for a $10 reward toward a national park adventure or elect for Energizer to donate the reward directly to the National Park Foundation!
Do you want to win a $10 gift card to help you finance your outdoor activies this summer? Well, Energizer has graciously offered one lucky winner a $10 gift card to either Target or Walmart (your choice)!

I would try to take my kids to see these treasures and educate them, as members of the next generation, in ways to preserve them.
