Catherine Zeta Jones Stars in The Rebound On Blu-ray 2/7

Last week, I received a copy of The Rebound, starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Justin Bartha, on Blu-ray.

Yeah, I just threw in a totally 90's Ren & Stimpy reference. Deal with it. It was a fun show.

I'm a big fan of Catherine Zeta Jones - who isn't? I was excited to see this movie and actually kind of surprised that I had never heard of it before.

The synopsis:

Upon discovering her husband’s infidelity, Sandy (Zeta-Jones) and her two kids move from the suburbs to pursue a new life in the big city. There she meets Aram (Bartha), a local coffee shop employee whose wife only married him as a means to getting her green card. The two strike up a friendship which eventually evolves into something more. But it isn’t long before they’re faced with the big question - “Is this real or just a rebound?”

So, the story isn't a new one - older woman, younger man. What made this movie great was that Sandy and Aram both had such great stories behind them and they are each incredibly interesting and charming on their own - it wasn't a hot for teacher sort of romance, it was born of genuine affection and mostly revolved around Aram's being just so wonderful with her kids (he became their nanny!). I found myself rooting for them and hoping that they would be able to be together.

Oh, and I laughed my ass off too - when did Catherine Zeta Jones become so funny?

I find it hard to write reviews about movies like this because the end was the best part but I can't talk about that because it's a total spoiler.
