Disney’s Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story #BlankandBow

When Disney creates a love story, it’s not always a fairytale princess being whisked away by Prince Charming. Sometimes it’s about a blank canvas and searching the world for your one true love – your soul mate. Doesn’t sound like the typical Disney love story, does it? Well, that’s because it’s not! Disney Interactive and Google recently teamed up to launch a new original animated short, Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story. This animated stop-motion film is only available on Google Play, Google’s online store offering digital movies, books, music, apps, and games.

Unboxing

Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story is based on the popular Disney Parks Vinylmation collectible franchise, you know those cute little Vinyl character figures that are sweeping the nation and capturing the attention of Disney fans everywhere?

In Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story, Disney tells the story of Blank, an unpainted Vinylmation, as he embarks on an epic adventure through an original new world to find his lost soul mate. While Blank is just that – Blank – it’s plain to see that this is our beloved Mickey Mouse. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that his soul mate is none other than Minnie Mouse herself! The bow gives it away!

Sunset

While Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story is a 38 minute stop-motion animated film full of adventure, sweetness and of course, a simple and endearing love story.

It may seem a little silly for me to say this, but I felt so much emotion watching Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story. Granted, it’s a silent stop-animation film, but it is so full of endearing scenes – it’s a powerful little film. A story full of love, adventure, friendship and a struggle to maintain a sense of personal identity.

Blank_03

All of that from a 38 minute stop-animation film? Yes! We are talking about Disney, after all!

I think that we can all relate to Blank’s journey to find love – while maintaining his own identity – because we all struggle with this to a certain degree. In 13 years of marriage, it has not been easy for me to stay true to who I am as an individual while still trying to fill that role of a mom and a wife. It isn’t easy to separate yourself from your different roles in life, is it? And I think it’s safe to say that finding your true love is not always an easy task – in fact, it’s downright HARD…and sometimes it’s even harder to keep that love alive and growing strong once you’ve found your soul mate.

Meeting

You can download “Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story” for free , but it s only available on Google Play! You can view the film online from your computer or your Android phone or tablet, or even your iPhone and iPad through the Google Play Movies & TV app. You can download the app for for Android or iOS.

To celebrate the premiere of Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story, Google has invited fans to share frames from the film with their friends and family as digital greeting cards at blankmovie.withgoogle.com. After sharing a frame, you can unlock a second special film, “Cranes in Love,” created especially for Google users. Pretty cool, right?

I’d love to hear what you think, did you see the same message I did? You can watch the Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story – Trailer on Disney Video right here! I bet you’re going to love it just as much as I did…you might even be inspired to run out and buy your own Disney Vinylmation characters!

We go to Disney every year and have a ton of those Vinylmation guys around the house. I think some of them are collectible, too. They are so fun, we try to get as many as we can.

I must be the only Disney fan that has no idea what a Vinylmation is! You learn something new everyday and I cannot wait to catch up on what I have been missing out on. This story looks so cute and you are so right in saying that we can all relate to his journey to find love and the other piece of our puzzle.

Disney`s films and cartoons are always the best so I can be sure that this one is wonderful too. Though the animation is not peculiar to Disney`s style. Anyway it is interesting to say what they have invented this time.

How cute! I swear sometimes what they intend to make as a ‘short’ or simple movie ends up turning into a huge hit and being made into a full-length, which I bet what happens with the Vinylmation Love Story!
