I am completely worthless if I don’t get a solid eight hours of sleep every night. Unfortunately, when you add up the amount of time I spend at work, then commuting, then spending time with my family, and then sometimes spending time with my friends, I barely have time to fit eight hours in. I have to go to bed the second I get home and hope to fall asleep immediately.
This does not happen. I lie awake and replay my day. Then I start to plan my next day. Then I add in everything that I should have done today that I’ll have to now do the next day.
By the time my brain is starting to slow down, I have very little time left to get my beauty sleep in.
And then…the imaginary noises start. It’s a never ending cycle.
While I guess I could start going to bed earlier, I’d have to spend less time with my family, which is not an ideal solution. Luckily, I came up with a better solution. My husband and I installed a ADT Jamaica. Now, although it still takes me entirely too long to turn my brain off, once it’s off I can fall asleep without listening for sounds of an intruder.

Going to work and commuting takes up so much time, I used to have to chill for at least a few hours when I came home. I don't need 8 hours, only because I take a nap every day 🙂
