A Short Story: The Battle of The iPods

Once upon a time, there was a party at a sweet little seaside resort. Lots of good friends came to the party from all over the country; the Zune, the generic MP3 player, the iPods, the iPod touch, the iPhone 3G and the iPhone4 were all in attendance.

Everyone was having a wonderful time until someone discovered an auxiliary jack that connected to the sound system…

iPod was the first to jump on the jack, and everyone partied harder once the sounds began to fill the resort. Drinks were made, snacks were eaten, and the pool began to fill up with happy party-goers.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, there came a screeching noise and the sweet melodies of Blink 182 ceased. In their place, Snoop Doggy Dog began to rap over the speakers.

iPod became distraught.

“Who jumped on the auxiliary jack? I wanted to listen to Blink 182!” iPod shouted over the rapping.

iPhone4 snuck out of eyesight of iPod, because she didn’t want her to know she had hooked the auxiliary cable to herself in order to hear her rap music.

“I said,” shouted iPod, “WHO changed my music?”

iPhone4 quietly slipped into the supply room and unhooked herself from the auxiliary jack and hooked iPod back up.

“Thank you!” Shouted iPod, to no one in particular. The party resumed, and everyone quickly forgot about the interruption.

That is, until Tupac began rapping a string of violent and hateful obscene words over the speakers.

“WTF?! is going on?” Shouted Zune, who at this point, was just jealous that he could not provide the music for the party. He had a full playlist of Bjork that he was dying to hear.

Across the pool, iPhone4 smirked at iPod. iPod quickly realized that this was going to turn into a brawl…
