    5 Realistic New Year's Resolutions for 2012

I love the hope and promise that a new year brings.

I love waking up on January 1st of a new year and just taking in the newness of it all.

And 2012 brings with it Leap Year - how much more inspiring and promising can a year be than Leap Year? We get an extra day!

    My 2012 New Year Resolutions

Kick the cigarettes for good. Enough with the stupid cigarettes already. I quit twice in 2011, and after a brief episode of falling off the wagon two weeks ago, I am back to being smoke free for 2012.

Eat healthier in 2012. Each year, I say that I am going to lose a certain amount of weight or make certain dietary changes. This year? I want to stop eating so much processed junk. More cooking from scratch, less soda in the house, less eating out: all completely realistic goals!

Be a more professional blogger. While I already consider myself a professional blogger, I definitely need to step it up! I plan to attend my first blogging conference this year (Blogher 2012 in NYC), have a new logo created, make new business cards, and work harder on networking and developing relationships with PR.

Be more creative with my cooking. I tend to make the same things over and over again, and only try new recipes for special occasions. I want to make something completely new once a week!

Live for the moment. Life is short. Years fly by so quickly that come December 31st of each year, I can't believe another year has come and gone. I want to be more present in each day, in each moment and fully appreciate everything life throws my way!

What are your goals for 2012?

Wonderful resolutions! I'm all about a new me for this new year. Have already quit smoking. Also want to get healthier overall and lose a LOT of weight. Blog goals are something I need to think about as well.

Good luck with your resolutions. Mine are 1) Stay married 2) Stay employed 3) Stay sane. Simple as they sound, achieving them would make my 2012 very happy!

All attainable and measurable. Good ones! I need to be more creative with my cooking too. Before my kids lead a revolt.

All those resolutions sound doable! 🙂 And YAY for quitting smoking. I've been smoke free for almost 11yrs now. I don't know how I ever smoked in the first place.

      Happy New Year!

Eating healthier is one of mine too. I'm in your corner - especially for the smoking one. That can be super hard, from what I can see.

Those are great resolutions! I want to eat healthier, too. I don't necessarily gorge on junk food, but I do want to shy away from most food that isn't organic. 🙂

Great resolutions. I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to sit down and really figure out what I want.
