Make sure your style stays put by flipping the bobby pin over so the wavy side is against your head. If you have a hard time keeping your hair in place, try flipping the bobby pin over. The straight side is slicker and won't grip as well as the wavy side.
Have thin hair? You can make your hair look thicker and fuller by gently pulling the plaits outward. Just be careful because you don't want to ruin the braid. I find that it helps to stop and do it every so often as you work so that if you go too far you can correct.
If you have straight hair, roll your hair into a coil, wrap it in foil, and press it with a flat iron. Allow the foil to cool completely before taking them out. This creates curls that last longer because the cooling process "locks" in the curl.
I hate the way an elastic tie looks at the end of a chic braid or twist. Instead, use a hidden bobby pin to secure the end and keep the look chic.
Create easy, imperfect waves by braiding you hair and then heating up the braid with a flat iron. Take the braid out and tease!
