During my trip to San Jose earlier this month, I was a bit embarrassed by my luggage...let's just say that it had seen better days! I've been wanting a new carry on for a while now, and have found myself fancying those hard shell carry ons - they're so sleek and stylish, and I wouldn't have to worry about my camera of laptop being damaged in it!

I was fortunate enough to receive a ThermalStrike 20 inch carry on to review and it's accompanying me on my trip to Los Angeles this week to attend the Iron Man 3 premier! I have to say, I felt so confident standing in the security line with my gorgeous piece of luggage - it's almost like getting a new purse. Ha!

ThermalStrike luggage isn't just stylish luggage; they are also your first line of defense against bed bugs while traveling! As you may be aware, we've faced somewhat of a epidemic (I use that term lightly, of course) with bed bugs across the United States over the past few years, which infestations revealing themselves in even the most prestigious hotels. As many people bring these nasty little bed bugs home with them via their luggage, ThermalStrike can help you keep clothes bed bug free - as well as your home!

    How Does ThermalStrike Luggage Work?

Each piece of ThermalStrike luggage is lined with an infrared heating technology that automatically brings the temperature of the inside of the suitcase up to 140˚, which is the temperature that is needed to kill any bedbugs that have gotten into your clothing and suitcase!

It takes about 2.5 hours for the ThermalStrike luggage to reach the desired temperature, and the sensors automatically turn the unit off once it's been reached.

The ThermalStrike infrared heat uses wavelength energy to penetrate objects quickly and more evenly that other heating methods and is safe for your apparel, so there's no need to worry about anything being damaged during the process. The heating unit is less than 1 mm thick and weighs less than half a pound, so it doesn't take up very much room at all!

When I first showed Chris my new ThermalStrike suitcase, he assumed it would be quite heavy - he was surprised that it's actually lighter than my fabric carry on! The polycarbonate blend outer shell is super tough and durable but it's also extremely light.

    ThermalStrike Luggage Features:

It has telescopic aluminum handle, reinforced corner guards and an integrated TSA approved lock, and the wheels are 360 degree rotational, so you can just drag it behind you however you see fit as you run towards your gate 15 minutes before departure time - as I did Tuesday morning!

The packing space inside is divided into two separate compartments, each complete with their own zipper, and there is even an attached, built-in cosmetics case! While packing for Los Angeles, I packed my evening wear in one side, my causal wear on the other side, and my shoes in the middle, which allowed me to pack my shoes without getting any of my clothing dirty!

ThermalStrike Luggage comes in two sizes:

20" Carry-on with 2400 cubic inches of packing space

24" Upright with 3900 cubic inches of packing space

20 and 24 inches suitcases (with red)

ThermalStrike Luggage can be purchased at www.thermalstrike.com and you can like ThermalStrike on Facebook to keep up to date on promotions!

With bed bugs being such a widespread issue as of late, I'm happy to be able to host a giveaway for a Protect-A-Bed BugLock Mattress Encasement (ARV $49.99-89.99, dependent upon size).

One winner will be able to choose one Protect-A-Bed BugLock Mattress Encasement to keep their mattress protected from bed bugs!

    To Enter:

Leave me a comment telling me which mattress size and measurement you would like if you win!

Mattress size choices are: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and California King.
Mattress depth choices are 9, 11 and 15 inches.

One winner will be randomly drawn on May 5, 2013 and will have 24 hours to respond to a winning notification email or they will forfeit their prize.

I received the ThermalStrike 20 inch carry on in exchange for my fair and honest review, and all opinions are 100% my own.

I would pick the queen in the 15 inch. I hate the thought of bed bugs :(. I saw not long ago where a college in NC had an infestation of them in the dorms.
