If you’re like most parents you love to document every joyous moment in your child’s life. The best way to do this of course is through photographs. Taking pictures of your children through some of the happiest times in their life gives you something to look back on and smile. From candid photos you might have laying around the house to the professional pictures your children have taken over the years; you want everyone to see how much your kid has grown and how wonderful their life is.
Of course pictures are meant to be displayed around your home so that these precious moments can be shared with everyone. Rather than using the old traditional picture frame to show off your kids, why not try out some of these cool ideas for hanging portraits all around the house in a unique way.
1. Bedazzled Frames
While a traditional wooden frame can be nice in some areas of the home, it can get pretty boring really quickly. So add a little creativity to the mix by bedazzling your frames. This can be a cool family weekend art project. All you need is some glue and a few different accessories to add to the frames. You can try gems, glitter, and even small cutouts of things like baseballs and basketballs for boys and bows for the girls. Get creative in designing your frames any way you’d like and place them around the house.
2. Create a Wall Collage
Instead of simply placing your kid’s photographs in a neat line along the wall or sitting them on a side table, you can create your very own wall collage. This is a neat idea for kid’s room décor. Grab a bunch of picture frames that are the same color as your child’s room. Arranging the varying sized photos along the wall in a haphazard way can create a beautiful backdrop and allow the kid to reminisce about when they were younger.
3. Magnetize Them
Another cool twist and neat way to add a little pizzazz to your child’s photographs would be to stick a magnet on the back. If you really want to customize the photo, there are places you can take them to have them cut into varying shapes and then put on a magnet. The Picture People photography studio offers customizable options for more creative photos to hang around your house or to pass off as gifts to family and friends.
4. A Bouquet of Photos
If you’re looking for a way to place your photos on tables or in windows then creating a bouquet of photos is a creative way to do it. All you need is a flower pot, some Styrofoam, a few popsicle sticks, some glue, construction paper, and a few photos of your children. Create shapes from the construction paper (some ideas might include flowers, hearts, or stars). Then cut the photo out to fit in the center of the construction paper allowing for a small amount of the colored paper to be exposed as a border. Glue the photo to the construction paper, and then glue the cut out shape to the popsicle sticks. Once the glue has dried, take the popsicle sticks and press them into the Styrofoam. Then place the Styrofoam inside of the flower pot. You now have a lovely bouquet of photos.
These are all cool ways to add a little pizzazz to your children’s photos. You can allow them to help out with each of these projects to make it a family affair. You’ll have a bunch of fun doing crafts together, looking over photos, and reminiscing about the fun times you’ve shared over the years. These ideas can also bring a room to life serving as a feature wall or just an additional accessory to draw attention. Have fun creating these ideas in your home as you create more memories that will last a lifetime.
