Day 29 of the 30 day music challenge is a song from my childhood...
I thought long and hard about this. The issue with music from my childhood is this: I am still listening to that music!
My parents were young when I was born. Mom was 16 and dad 20. Yeah...he may have robbed the cradle a bit on that one! They were young parents and listened to the popular music of the time.
My dad is a classic rock guy. He introduced me to the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Who while I was still in diapers. Mom was cranking Bruce Springsteen while I was so young that I didn't even realize how handsome The Boss was.
I grew up listening to this genre of music and I STILL DO.
So, let's go with something simple. I have heard this song thousands of times throughout my life, beginning in my childhood and leading up to the present. But this particular song, I don't know what it is about it, whenever I hear it, I am immediately drawn back to the 80's, singing into a hairbrush, marveling at the wonder that was M.T.V.
Thank god we cable during those years. Can you imagine only discovering M.T.V. after they took all the music off (haha)?
