2 Thumbs Up! Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Movie Review

Warning – this post contains spoilers!

You may have seen the massive amounts of #WreckItRalph updates coming from my Instagram, Twitter and FB stream this past week.

There’s a very simple explanation for that…

Wreck-It Ralph was awesome.

I always have a hard time sitting down and writing movie reviews, and my Wreck-It Ralph movie review is no exception. There were so many things that I loved about this newest Disney movie that I don’t know where to start!

So, let’s start with the story – because you know Disney, the stories are always incredible!

Ralph is the costar of the Fix It Felix Jr arcade game, only he’s not particularly liked, and he’s quite unhappy. He tries to make friends with the other characters in his game, but they don’t care for him very much – they don’t seem to grasp that he isn’t a bad guy by choice, that it’s just his job!

In order to try to prove to them that he’s a great guy and to be accepted into their little network, he goes off to win a medal from another game.

That’s when things go wrong…he enters a game called Hero’s Duty, which is a first person shooter game. He mistakenly brings one of the bugs out of the game and into a very sweet racing game called Sugar Rush. Upon his arrival, so to speak, in Sugar Rush, Ralph runs into Vanellope, who is a little misfit of a glitch in her game. She is to Sugar Rush what Ralph is to Fix It Felix Jr.

After Vanellope steals Ralph’s gold medal to enter into a racing competition, Ralph sets out to help Vanellope build her own race car so that she can win the race and find acceptance with her people. Everyone is against them and it is a constant struggle to stay out of the King’s grasp – anyone caught by the King trying to help Vanellope ends up in his fungeon – you know, a fun dungeon? – like Fix It Felix Jr!

Speaking of Felix, another lovely part of Wreck-It Ralph is Felix falling in love with the leader of Hero’s Duty. It’s not exactly your typical match…but they are somehow perfect for each other!

In the end, we find out that the King actually made Vanellope a glitch – she was once the princess of Sugar Rush! One Ralph figures out what happened, he helps restore Vanellope and they save Sugar Rush from the monster bugs from Hero’s Duty.

It was such an adorable movie!

I took Angeline, and my niece Katarina and my cousin Nicolette and they thought it was an awesome movie too!

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph movie opens in theaters nationwide TODAY, November 2!

I hope you like it as much as I did! There’s even a special little surprise right before the movie begins…

I attended a complimentary press screening of Wreck-It Ralph at AMC Theaters, but all opinions are my own.
