I participated in an Ambassador Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Lay’s. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

I love the term “foodie” that has swept the culinary world in the past few years. Of course, everyone eats food – but there are certain people that live for the discovery of brand new foods. I am one of those people! Of course, I didn’t develop a passion for good food all on my own, it was instilled in me from a young age by my mom, who was – and is – a fabulous cook!

I have fond memories of growing up with family dinners at the table every day when my dad got home from work. We had assigned seats (mine was next to my dad) and boy, you did not want to mess with me by stealing my seat! Why? Not just because I loved sitting next to my dad, but that was where the best parts of the family meal were – right in front of him! My mom always served family-style meals on the table, so we filled our own plates. While she wasn’t exactly a recipe-follower, my mom was always so creative in the kitchen that no matter what she tried her hand at, it was always delicious.

While I am not nearly as creative as my mom, I do love experimenting with flavors! You can often find me in the kitchen playing with recipes and sharing those recipes with you guys on this very blog. While it’s officially work because it’s for my blog, baking cookies and cakes is like my own version therapy – only it yields very sweet results!

Do you love food as much as I do? If so, you’re going to love what I share next…the Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” is on! This fun contest is open to everyone in the US, and you can submit your own ideas for the next Lay’s potato chip flavor! Oh, and there’s also a cool million grand prize involved! {See these rules for full details}

The Lays Do Us a Flavor contest is simple!

There is a judging panel made up of chefs, foodies and flavor experts, and they will come together to choose four finalist flavors out of all of the submissions. Those four flavors will be developed by Frito-Lay’s culinary experts and unveiled in summer 2014…and they will be sold in stores across the country!

From there, it will be up to fans to vote for the finalist flavor they want to see stay on store shelves, and the finalist behind the winning flavor will take home the million dollar grand prize! Super exciting, right?

New this year, fans are able to choose from three potato chip forms – Lay’s Original, Lay’s Kettle Cooked and/or Lay’s Wavy – for their flavor ideas.

I started thinking about what kind of flavor I would want in a new potato chip…and of course, the answer was CHOCOLATE.

Because the answer to almost every question is chocolate! Well, in this case, it was chocolate chip cookies! Can you imagine a chocolate chip cookie flavored Lays potato chip? I can! It would taste something like these chocolate chip cookies, full of sweet, chocolaty goodness!

    The chocolate “chips” sound very interesting. A little bit of salt with a lot of sweetness. I wish you luck in the contest!

    My daughter always has to eat something salty when she eats something sweet. She would probably love chocolate chip cookie flavored chips.

    I am not ashamed to admit it – I’d totally buy chocolate chip cookie flavored potato chips. And if they were salty-sweet, I might just eat the whole bag.
