When Technology is a Pain in the Ass

Hubs drew this a while back

Have you ever found that technology makes your life more difficult? Isn’t technology supposed to streamline everything, make it simpler?

My husband bought a new remote a while back and yes, it’s nice to use only one remote – as opposed to the T H R E E we used to use – but if it doesn’t work, it really, really doesn’t work.

Case in point: I rented “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest” to watch tonight…and I’m sitting here watching the Biography of Adam West instead. Why? Because I can’t figure out how to switch our living room TV over to the Blue Ray player (pan away to a very frustrated me punting the TV remote across the living room).

Hubs is off at happy hour and I don’t want to call/text/email him to try to have him walk me through it over the phone…

Oh, watch it in the bedroom, you say? Yeah, about that…I never learned how to work the Blue Ray player back there. You know, because there are two remotes to work that TV and I decided when we set that home theater system up that I would just watch movies on the living room TV if hubs wasn’t home.

Damn it. Maybe I’ll just download it on iTunes and watch it on my iPhone…

PS – Adam West was pretty cute when he was young. But what was up with that little pot belly? Batman is supposed to have rock-hard abs! Just one more reason why Michael Keaten is the most awesome Batman of all time.

Yes I agree Batman is supposed to have rock hard abs, and while I love Michael Keaton, I love me some Christian Bale.
I also like your husbands drawing, pretty sweet.

We have the same situation here too. TV, Blu Ray player, and 47 thousand remotes to work them. I have no clue, and wind up getting the teenage IT person to set it up for me. Very frustrating. With technology what it is these days, one would think they would make it so super simple that even you and I can figure it out.
