It’s about that time again…my summer schedule is filling up and I’m planning road trips, parties, family events and house guests!

We currently have a spare room that I use as my home office/guest room. I will spare you the photos, as it’s highly embarrassing how sparse the room is! We have odds and ends pieces of furniture thrown in there; the guest room is where we put all of the items we are no longer using but just don’t to throw away. It’s horrid!

The “guest bed” is currently my daughter’s old day bed. When we bought it, it was lovely. White enamel, pretty flowers, brass knobs…now? Not so much. Like most preteens, she painted it with marker, nail polish, stickers, etc. I’m embarrassed to let anyone see it, let alone sleep on it!

I’ve decided that with the income from my new business venture, I’m going to buy REAL bedroom furniture for the guest room. Just in time for my family to come visit us!

I am torn between a few options. This first one, a twin sleigh bed, would be perfect for single people coming to visit. It’s simple enough to fit in with any decor (when I finally decide on decor) and it’s pretty enough to make a statement in and of itself.

My second option is one of these contemporary bedroom sets, which is better for couples that come to visit, and I love how sleek and modern it looks. I think that this full sized bed, although it will take up more space in the guest room, will be a better option because I can actually provide a place for two people to sleep! It’s also very simple with regard to decor – I can fit this baby in with any design theme!

I’m so excited to finally be decorating and putting bedroom furniture in the guest room!
