Spending a day with good friends & Flip Flop Wine…

The other weekend I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. Have you ever had one of those weekends when you just don’t sit still for a minute? I’m fortunate to be blessed with many friends, and my social calendar is usually pretty full.

My friend and I have a tradition that at least once a month, we get together for “Sunday Fundays” by her pool, or mine, depending on whose house is cleaner each weekend. Whoever hosts that week’s Sunday Funday usually provides the staples: sodas, something to throw on the BBQ and a clean pool. Whoever is coming to the BBQ brings liquor, beer, side dishes, etc.

This weekend in particular, my friend hosted and I was the guest. There were a bunch of us there, celebrating who-knows-what. It doesn’t take much to get us to celebrate! My husband and I were one of the first ones there, and my husband decided to clean her pool before the party really started.

I brought random BBQ fare side dishes and a bottle of Flip Flop Wines Moscato – it was my first time trying it, and I was hoping it would be as great as the other wines I’d tried from their line.

It was wonderful! Now, of course Moscato wines are always sweet, but some are sweeter than others. There are times I’ve tried a Moscato in the same price range as Flip Flop Wines and it just tastes like sparkling white grape juice – that’s not cool. The Flip Flop Wine’s Moscato was sweet, but not too sweet – it tasted like wine, with a note of sweetness. If that makes any sense!

The Flip Flop Wine Moscato comes from California and is a light-bodied wine, with bright floral aromas and sweet notes. My girlfriend and I drank it while we were eating BBQ chicken and potato salad. While it tasted just fine with that food, it is recommended to be drank with more lively cuisine, like Pad Thai and Chicken Curry – the crisp sweetness balances out those spices perfectly!

The Flip Flop Wines Moscato is only $7.00 a bottle and you can find it at most grocery stores or liquor stores in the wine section – or you can order it on their website and have it shipped right to your door! It’s perfect for sipping poolside!
