disclosure

Purina wants to give back to those who give so much. In order to do so, they teamed up with military pet charities Dogs on Deployment and Pets for Vets with the goal of giving away $100,000. That’s right, $100,000!!!

Dogs on Deployment’s mission is to give military members peace of mind concerning their pets during their service commitments by providing them with the ability to find people and resources able to help them. I have talked about this before, and from personal experience, I know from friends in the military that being deployed can raise all sorts of “What am I going to do with my stuff?” questions – and if they have pets, it can be absolutely stressful and heartbreaking. I can’t imagine having to leave behind Bailey and Toby while being deployed, let alone having to worry about who would take care of them for me.

Give Thanks for Your Dogs With Purina! #DogThanking

Our military sacrifices so much, this is one little thing that I am so glad people are working to help them with! You can read more about Dogs on Deployment in this blog post.

Pets for Vets is another great organization that is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.

The $100,000 donation will be split between the two charities. Chosen by public vote, the charity with the most votes will receive $75,000 and the second place charity will receive $25,000.
