Can you believe that Americans spend an average of $400 Billion on prescription medications each year? That averages out to nearly $1300 per person, for medications most of us absolutely need. Even with insurance coverage, many of us still find ourselves paying out of pocket for some medications and covering hefty copays for others. The worst part is that we have no way of knowing what our total will be until after our prescription has been filled. Personally, there have been times when I was left to scoop my jaw up off the counter after finding out how much I would be paying for a prescription drug.

Wouldn’t it be great to save money on prescription medication? It used to be the only way to save a few dollars would be to get samples from your doctor or fill out a rare rebate form from the prescription company. Another option was to sign up for your pharmacies rewards programs and hope to earn a few kickbacks.

But now there’s a better way. SearchRx offers the option for finding the best prices on prescription drugs from a variety of pharmacies like Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, and Target to name a few. Not only does it save you money, it lets you know how much you can expect to pay ahead of time.

When you fill a prescription, you don’t find out the price until AFTER you go to pick it up. To add to the confusion, prices on the same drug vary from pharmacy to pharmacy.

I do hate you don’t know the price until it is filled. Comparing pricing should be something we can do easily. Good too see someone is tackling it!

The medical world is so frustrating. One of the few things you really can’t shop around for and that does need to change. I will be trying this for sure, saving money is always a good thing.

I believe it!! And…I’m part of it. I always ask for generic and most of the time I get it.
