Newlywed Pajamas vs Old Married Couple Pajamas

A few days ago, I realized that all of my pajamas are really worn out – I’ve ended up sleeping in tee shirts and yoga pants for who knows how long…and that has to change!

Sure, they’re comfortable. But when my daughter gets home from school and asks me “Did you even get dressed today?” with a look of disgust and amusement on her face, and I totally did get dressed – well, you know it’s time for a change.

I started browsing the camisoles and gowns section at EdenFantasys, and I realized something: my choice in sleepwear has really - I mean really – changed over the course of my marriage.

I was looking for something simple, like a nightshirt or matching pajama set and I kept coming across all of these incredibly sexy nighties – most of which I feel would not be appropriate to walk around the house in.

The funny thing is, I used to wear stuff like that all of the time.

Ten years ago.

I would have thought nothing of wearing a little black, silky nightie like this one when I first got married. I’d simply throw a robe on if I was walking around the house so that my daughter didn’t see what I was wearing. But I’ve gotten lazy and unmotivated in my old-ish age.

Now? This is what was looking for.

Unfortunately, everyone else must be lazy too, because this cute pajama set was sold out.

I decided that I’m going to make a little more effort in looking sexy when I got to bed from now on…and settled on this cute number from EdenFantasys’ sexy lingerie department – I think it’s sexy enough to not count as grandma clothing, and once I attach a button to the chest (thank goodness for my sewing skills!), I won’t die of embarrassment if my daughter sees me wearing it!

This year will be our 11th anniversary…and being that my husband travels so much for work, we only see each other for about two weeks out of each month. It’s definitely made a difference in our relationship – I am so happy when he is home that we might as well be newlyweds again.

So maybe it’s time I start making that extra effort like I did back then!
