Tim Burton's Frankenweenie Movie

Y’all know how much I love the movies…especially Tim Burton and Disney movies!

I am so excited for Tim Burton’s FrankenWeenie to hit theaters this October! I am hoping that my local IMAX theater offers viewings, because I’ve never seen a Tim Burton film in IMAX before!

From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. The talented voice cast includes: Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell and Winona Ryder.

Presented by Disney, “Frankenweenie” is directed by Tim Burton, produced by Tim Burton and Allison Abbate, from a screenplay by John August, based on an original idea by Tim Burton. “Frankenweenie” releases in U.S. theaters on October 5, 2012.

My brother in law is a HUGE Disney and Tim Burton fanatic, so when I asked him if he knew that it was coming to theaters this year, his face lit up like a little kid on Christmas! He told me that Tim Burton wrote FrankenWeenie as a short back in the 80’s – can you believe that the idea took this long to come to life? I am so excited that it is finally coming to fruition!

And I am so excited that Winona Ryder is playing a part in FrankenWeenie! I just adore her!

You can check out more about FrankenWeenie on the Disney website, by liking the FrankenWeenie Facebook page, or following along on Twitter!
