I love my crazy travel schedule…BUT there is certainly a downside to spending so much time away from home…most of the produce I purchase has a lower life span than my trips, and I often return home to find that Angeline hasn’t touched the fruits and veggie compartment in the refrigerator, and everything is wilted, or even worse: SLIMY. A few weeks ago – before my ten day trip to Croatia – I received three of the brand new Rubbermaid FreshWorks products to give them a try and see if it helped keep my fresh produce, well, fresh.

We enjoy a variety of produce, especially when you take into account my low carb lifestyle – I don’t eat a lot of processed foods, so fruits and veggies are a huge component to my eating plan. I was so excited to give the Rubbermaid FreshWorks products a try to see if they could really help increase the life of my fresh produce!

Why Use FreshWorks Produce Saver?

FreshWorks Produce Saver helps to keep your produce fresher, longer! FreshWorks is a food storage container that uses patented FreshVentTM technology to keep produce fresher up to 80%* longer than traditional produce packaging. FreshVent regulates the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide to create the optimal environment so produce stays nearly as fresh as the day it was picked, while the CrispTrayTM helps reduce moisture and spoilage.

I put one of my favorite veggies (okay, okay, FRUITS) in the smaller container before I left for Croatia and was happy to find that it was actually still fresh and totally edible upon my return!

The FreshWorks Produce Saver reduces waste, which helps save you money…how? Because less rotten fruits and veggies means less waste of money! I know that many of us find our produce is already spoiled after a few days, which means it ends up in the trash. FreshWorks extends the life of your produce, so you can eat your produce before it goes to waste!

That tomato was in there for a total of TWELVE DAYS. It’s still firm and plump – good as new!

Saves Money with FreshWorks Produce Saver! As a result of throwing away fresh produce, Americans waste $24 billion worth of produce every year, which is the equivalent of $192 per household.**

The FreshWorks Produce Saver is super easy to use. You just transfer your store-bought produce from the original packaging and put it into the FreshWorks containers before refrigerating to maintain freshness for up to 80% longer. The lid filter lasts a lifetime, no replacements are ever needed!

I love that these containers can help keep produce fresh longer. I spend a lot of money on fresh produce and I hate when it goes bad before we can eat it all. Anything to help save some money on healthy food for my family is a win in my book!

Wow! We are always in need of storage for food. We eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies and also always have leftovers that we want to safely store. Thanks!

I love the sounds of these! We too have the issue of our produce not lasting as long as it should. FRESHWORKS is something that I am going to look into purchasing, especially after seeing your tomato after 12 days. I hope you had a great time in Croatia.
