spa, Girl's Weekend

Have you ever had one of those “I need to get away!” moments?

Of course you have, because I can’t be the only woman on the planet who day dreams about massages, facials and steam baths while doing the dishes or scrubbing the toilet! Even though I am a stay at home mom now, I still work just as hard – if not harder – than I did when I had a 8-5. I am constantly pulled in so many directions: maid, cook, dog groomer, cat-petter (okay, that one is just for fun), chafuer, errand-girl, getting my small business off the ground, building my blog…really, the list goes on and on. Add to that the everyday responsibility of being a mother to a teenage girl and a wife to a busy corporate guy. So when I start feeling a little (or a lot) overwhelmed, I fantasize about having a spa day.

My husband is taking a guy’s motorcycle trip in a few weeks and of course, I did what any wife would do. I went straight to the other women being left home alone on a holiday weekend and suggested we all go on a pamper weekend getaway!

I know what just flashed through your mind’s eye – you, a plush, comfy white robe, cucumbers on your eyes, surrounded by rose petals, inhaling fragrant oils and a mind completely void of thoughts of work, home, pets, children, etc. Bliss.

As you can imagine, they were all on board and we may have squealed like little school girls. We started looking online for spa deals and are working out the details to make this happen!

Girl’s Weekend or bust!

* While I received compensation for this post, I really do need a girl’s weekend getaway!
