Guess what time it is? It’s almost HALLOWEEN!!! Fall is in the air, even down here in Miami. Our temperatures have dropped below 90 and we are loving life! I might even break out a scarf if it drops below 85…I love when it cools down a bit right before Halloween. It makes it just that much more fun to celebrate the spooky holiday! As I begin preparing for Fantasy Fest and Halloween, I am gathering recipes for our family’s annual Halloween Horro Movie Night – we do this every year and it’s just such a fun tradition! I think I will make this fun Ghost Rice Krispie Treats Recipe that my friend Jill made for my blog, what do you think?

It’s kind of perfect!

Ingredients

(2) 12 oz packages of large or mini marshmallows
1/2 C. butter (1 stick)
8 C. crisped rice cereal
Wilton Ghost cookie cutter
3 tubes if Wilton sparkly white gel icing
1 tube Wilton black sparkly gel icing
Toothpicks

Directions

Spray a 9×13 baking with non-stick cooking spray.

Cut the stick of butter into equal parts and place in a large saucepan allowing it to melt about 3/4 of the way on low heat. Add in the 2 packages of marshmallows and turn the heat up to medium.

Stirring occasionally, allow the marshmallows to melt about 3/4 of the way – you don’t want them to over cook.

Once the marshmallows melt about 3/4 of the way, add in the rice cereal 2-3 cups at a time, mixing into the marshmallow mixture. Pour the treats into a 9×13 baking dish and gently press down.

Allow to cool a few hours prior to decorating.

Cut the treats into ghost shapes using your ghost cookie cutter. Use the Wilton white gel icing, outline your ghost (see photo)
