DreamWorks Pictures’ newest movie, War Horse, will be opening in theaters on Christmas Day! My daughter is currently reading War Horse in her language arts class, and we can’t wait to go see it! This is her first time going to see a movie that was made after a book that she has actually read!
Now that she is getting older and reading more “real” books, I anticipate she will be wanting to join me for more mature movies in the future! Yay!
War Horse is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. The story begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax. My daughter hasn’t finished the book yet, so we are hoping she gets through it quickly so that we can see the movie as soon as it opens!
In the meantime, here’s a brand new clip! Enjoy! I’ll see you at the theater!
