This post brought to you by Carbonite. All opinions are 100% mine.

Last week, my daughter’s laptop finally died on her. It just so happened to die on her while she was in the middle of creating a presentation for her zoo science class…that was due the next day. With my my tech savvy husband out of town, we had no way to get the presentation off of her laptop and onto mine so that she could finish it in time for class. She ended up having to redo the entire thing!

I’d recently heard about an online computer backup program, Carbonite, but I hadn’t had a chance to research it yet. After my daughter lost her project, I realized that we really did need some type of online backup – something that we could access even if the computer we were using malfunctioned.

Carbonite Online Backup

What I found was that Carbonite unlimited online backup is a simple program that just runs in the background backing up files whenever your computer is connected to the internet. For our family, that is pretty much always! It runs automatically and it continues to run until you get off the internet. It backs up documents, emails, music and photos, which let’s face it, those are the most important things on our computers! My favorite feature is that since it’s an online program, we can access our backed up files from any computer or on our iPhones or iPad with their free Carbonite app!

Carbonite offers unlimited backup for your PC or Mac, with access from any computer or through your smartphone (through the free app) for $59 a year. They have a trial period of 15 days, so you can try it for free before you buy it! You can get two free months by using the promotional code BLOGAD.
