I am on day 6 of my 30 Day Music Challenge, and today’s selection is “a song that reminds you of somewhere.”
This is sort of a hard one. Almost all of my favorite songs remind me of certain people and certain places!
Of course, the Escape Club weren’t rockers. I know I said I pretty much only listen to Rock N Roll. Well, suck it. Pop can be pretty rockin’ too! This 30 day challenge is going to last quite a while, so I thought I’d shake it up a bit and throw this pop song in for good measure.
I really like this song. I have always liked it, but something that happened in the late 90’s made me enjoy it even more. When my daughter was a few months old and I was ready to get out of the house and try to recover from my break up with her father, the first place I went was to a little dive bar called BB’s in the neighborhood for country night. Try not to laugh too hard. I began going with the former preacher’s son from my old church, and eventually made a bunch of friends.
The guys and girls would gather up in a circle and do a couples line dance to this song. It was so much fun. I was only 19 and not legally allowed in that bar, but they let me in anyway and I always had SO MUCH FUN. I have never been a huge country music fan, so when this song came on, I was always a happy camper!
